THE YEAR OF THE YANG WATER DRAGON, 2012

On the 23rd January we celebrated Chinese New Year. 2012 is the year of the Water Dragon. This year does not herald a global disaster or the end of the world as many have claimed.  So you can stop worrying on that front. It will however be a constantly changing  year  with more challenges to authority, a financial situation which is unlikely to improve and earthquakes and tsunamis again. However wood based industries which involve textiles, paper, books, media, the environment, food and other consumer goods are likely to do very well.

ANNUAL FENG SHUI ENERGIES

Feng Shui energies also change each year as annual energies, or stars, arrive and interact dynamically with other influences already present in our buildings. We need to take precautions to weaken the negative and enhance the positive so our year is safe and brings us blessings.

Take note of energies which land where there is a door or in an important room such as a bedroom or office as the effect will be stronger there.  The Chinese New year was on the 23rd January but we use the 4th February, to place the cures for the year.

Remember though that the annual energies or stars are best understood in relation to your own natal chart as the effect can be even worse if they team up with an already negative star in a particular location. it is a good idea to see a reliable practitioner to do your natal chart for you.

THE FIVE YELLOW STAR

The most  powerfully negative influence is the ‘Five Yellow’ star , which lands in the Southeast, symbolising obstacles and misfortune. Clean out any clutter both inside and outside your home and hang a metal wind chime externally. If there is no ‘external’ because you live in an apartment, hang a string of 5 metal coins with yellow tassle here. If the SE is at your front door or bedroom, place a round Metal plate or vase here for the year. If possible sleep in another room or use an alternative door for the year.

THE NUMBER 2 STAR

Number 2 star in the North, symbolises sickness. This a powerfully negative star. Place a Metal Wu Lu (calabash) here or six Chinese coins on a white background in a metal frame. Clean out clutter and be especially careful in July and October.

THE NUMBER 3 STAR

Number 3 star  in the Southwest, is the star of conflict and legal problems. Add something red to burn off its power. It can help if you are involved in commercial activities.

THE NUMBER 4 STAR

Number 4 star in the East, brings both wanted and unwanted romance! A pair of Mandarin ducks works well here. A good area for study or creative pursuits.

THE NUMBER 6 STAR

Number 6 star lands  in the centre. Good for careers and promotion. Nothing needs to be done here.

THE NUMBER 7 STAR

Number 7 star, in the Northwest, brings arguments and burglary. Check security and place a gold Pi Yao (a mythical creature like a winged lion) for protection, facing Southeast. You can also add in a touch of black colour or some wavy shapes.

THE NUMBER 8 STAR

Number 8 star in the West, relates to wealth, fame, romance and prestige. Wonderful if your front door is here!  Place a quartz crystal ball here and a little red colour. If you can sleep here all the better as well.

THE NUMBER 9 STAR

Number 9 star has a mixed effect.   It lands in the Northeast and can brings career opportunities and promotion. Fresh flowers and six Chinese coins enhance this good energy. However if your natal chart already has negative energies indicated here, the number 9 can make them worse.

OTHER POWERFUL NEGATIVE STARS

There are two other very powerful negative energies that can override even the good energies of your natal chart.

The first is the Tai Sui or Grand Duke of the Year.  It lands in the East-South East at 112-127.5 degrees.

It is very important to avoid renovating or digging the ground here this year to avoid stirring up the sickness energy or bad luck. This includes the floor, ground, garden, and the walls inside and outside. If any doors are located here, close and open them softly. Women aged between 40 and 59 should be extra careful if you house faces the South East.

You will notice that the 5 yellow star will also land in the South East. That makes this a doubly challenging area for the year especially if your facing direction is the SE. Make sure you have a round metal plate or vase at your facing direction.

The final energy to be aware of is known as The Three Killings which lands in the South at 157.5 – 202.5 degrees.

Once again do not stir it up by digging or renovating. This can bring lawsuits, gossip and arguments and as its name suggests, problems can come in threes. Clear the area of clutter and keep it tidy and still. Remove anything red from this location for the year.

MONTHLY ENERGIES

Each month Monthly energies  arrive to interact with our natal charts. These can impact on us and help to explain why some months are smoother than others. If you  go to my web site at http://www.frangleesonfengshui.com I will tell you what to expect each month and what you can to do about it.
